Workshops

Managing Projects.

Plan and run a project from sponsor buy-in to close, without needing a certification. Participants leave with a process, a set of tools, and the confidence to use them with their team.

For
Anyone new to project management, anyone who wants to improve their skills, and anyone involved in change initiatives.
Format
Two days. In person or live virtual.

What it is for.

Most projects are run by people who were never trained as project managers. They are handed a goal, a deadline and a team, and they work it out as they go.

This workshop gives them a systematic process for planning and organizing the work that produces deliverables. Because nobody runs a project alone, participants also learn how to bring the project team to a shared understanding of the concepts and tools, so that priorities are handled at the right time, in the right order, with the resources allocated. The two days follow the whole project life cycle: gaining buy-in from sponsors, building the tactical plan, and managing changes of scope and other challenges.

What you leave with.

  • A practical framework for managing and leading projects
  • Tools and techniques to initiate, plan, execute and close a project
  • Ways to monitor and control the project through its life cycle
  • Techniques for analyzing stakeholders and communicating with them and with the team
  • A coaching framework that helps team members deliver
  • Methods for anticipating risk and managing it
  • The confidence to run a project from start to finish

Why it matters.

  • Projects are how an organization changes, and most are led by people who learned on the job
  • A shared process keeps the team on the priorities that matter, in the right order
  • Sponsors stay committed when scope, risk and progress are communicated clearly

How it runs.
