Workshops

Ecosystem Encroachment.

Does your physical footprint, from buildings to logistics, harm the ecosystems it sits in? A live session on Future-Fit Break-Even Goal BE08: what the standard requires, where your organization stands, and what to do next.

For
Operations directors, environmental managers, and facilities and engineering teams. Also real estate, construction and community relations. No prior knowledge of the Benchmark is needed.
Format
Two hours forty-five minutes. Live virtual.

What it is for.

Buildings, infrastructure and logistics occupy land, and growing demand for land puts pressure on ecosystems, communities and species. Damage to areas of high biological, social or cultural value is often irreversible.

The standard is Future-Fit Break-Even Goal BE08, "Operations do not encroach on ecosystems or communities". In the words of the Benchmark: "A Future-Fit Business preserves the health of all areas of high biological, ecological, social or cultural value – both by protecting them where the company is already active, and by avoiding further expansion into new areas if degradation is possible." The session shows what that requires, how progress is measured on the scale from 0 to 100 percent, and what your team has to do to find out where the organization stands.

It is not a complete benchmarking exercise. A real progress score needs data from every site, and more time than one session allows. Participants leave knowing exactly how to do it.
